“Los Ojos de Dios” was conceived as a dream, an ambitious ideal which is now a reality after five years of planning and hard work. This breakthrough project breaks the typical scheme. That is, non lucrative foundations which initiative is motivated because of a disabled or specially challenged member in the family; or those which are merely religion motivated. “Los Ojos de Dios” is simply created to satisfy an urgent, unmet need in our community, an effort to defend the unwanted of the unwanted children’s rights and try to answer their cry for help. This part of every day life which made us, founders, go through sleepless nights. We could not wait any longer. We had to listen to our heart, to our conviction and, above all, our faith.

We are convinced that a successful, quality human being is the result of LOVE. The love we give through personal care, quality time given to a child in order to provide him with sound values, ethics and moral. That is all a person needs, the only ingredient necessary to help her overcome her lot in life, whatever it may be. It is time to give life back our countless blessings, but only by giving sacrifice in return will make it all worthy, as only love through sacrifice is true love. It is time for us to commit to rescuing and transforming lives that have been neglected. It is time to bridge this unfortunate gap in community action to ensure that they have a home and family they can call their own.

This is our mission of life in “Los Ojos de Dios”, Inc. A private, independent non-lucrative foundation dedicated to serving children and provide them with the love and care they were deprived of when someone threw them away like trash. Children found everyday in the streets, churches, hallways and doorsteps all throughout the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. Many of them even more vulnerable….Severely disabled children.

As part of our long term vision and development we are legally incorporated as non-profit, tax exempt approved by authorities both in Mexico and the United States. We are founded on solid organizational ground. Our path is reliable, trustworthy and highly sustainable.

We provide our little underprivileged ones with love in a comfortable, cozy home within a family setting for only 12 members each, where they are provided with their own private space so that they may develop a sense of belonging. Our all-green building facility has been constructed by combining the ancient adobe method with state-of-the-art systems and breakthrough ecotechnical concepts especially designed for this project by expert architects of Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez, which makes “Los Ojos de Dios” an Ecological Model in Latin America. We teach our children how to appreciate, optimize and care for their natural resources by actively participating, which represents a profound hands-on learning experience. They are in total contact with nature and the universe around them, which makes the child more sensible, appreciative and open in order to support her rehab therapy. In essence, we create awareness in our generations to come, so that they are naturally encouraged to actively promote the preservation of our environment. In sum, we try to form the father, the mother, the future generations……Quality human beings.

It has not been an easy road…Nothing like we would have imagined back then. Nevertheless, our conviction has grown firmer, stronger. Reaching this point of credibility of in our community from both sides of the border did require years of hard work. At first, it was no more than a dream, an ideal. But we have never walked haltingly even when the biggest obstacle non lucrative organizations like ours face is skepticism and often indifference. True-hearted, high-principled reputable certainty must be developed, so that others may join in by drawing in community action.

Changing into a giving society is a slow process that requires a lot of patience, humbleness and perseverance. Part of our task is to achieve participation. In a rapidly growing community such as ours, team work is required in order to achieve comprehensive development. We have proven certain that planting dreams will grow miracles. Together we may turn the life and future of our little ones around, who are not as privileged as our own sons and daughters. It is time to give in return, to realize that personal social responsibility is not an option anymore, or mere obligation of the government. Social initiatives would turn so much easier if we all united forces. Community effort must be shared in order to encourage progress. Together we may fight poverty, grief, illness and despair.

The dream, the ideal has transformed into a reality that will transcend in time. Our life is consecrated to trying to rescue the unwanted and create a brand new horizon by giving them the right to dignity and ensure their cry for help does not go unanswered. We will take them under “Los Ojos de Dios”, a sound, reliable, one of a kind organization dedicated to saving lives, through the power of love. It is a true, profound privilege.
